  • Diwrnod Shwmae Tomorrow

    Mon 14 Oct 2024

    Morning all,

It’s Diwrnod Shwmae tomorrow! This means everyone can wear Welsh clothes or Welsh colours ( red, white, green). There’s no charge to this, it’s just to celebrate everything Welsh!

    Many thanks,

    Mrs Beard-Robbins

    Morning all,

Just a reminder that there’s no after school clubs next week as all staff are doing parent consultations. All children will finish at 3.15pm

    Thank you,

    Mrs Beard-Robbins

  • Yr 6 Transitions

    Fri 11 Oct 2024

    Morning all,

Y6 are starting their preparations today for moving onto secondary school! They will be going to Abercan to meet lots of other Y6 from local schools and do some sports skills and tag rugby together.

It’s really important all children attend as learning to get along with other children and meet new friends is a really important part of transition.

    Many thanks,

    Mrs Beard-Robbins

  • World Mental Health Day

    Thu 10 Oct 2024

    Morning all,

It’s World Mental Health Day so the children will be having assemblies today about this and talking about it in their classes. Why not ask them about it when they come home?

Lots of luck to our football team today representing the school at a tournament!

    Have a great day!

    Mrs Beard-Robbins

  • School Building Surveys

    Wed 09 Oct 2024

    Afternoon all,

Caerphilly is looking at all school buildings at the moment and completing a survey to see what work needs to be done.

Sadly the gentleman here has just had to stop our survey as he was in the local streets with the drone and verbally abused and called awful names.

Please can I reassure you all that there is nothing to be worried about today. He was simply doing his job.

  • Harvest Festival & Parent Consultations Coming Up

    Fri 04 Oct 2024

    Morning all,

Just a final reminder about donations for our harvest festival which is taking place on Monday. We are hoping to give everything to a local foodbank.

Also next week all the teachers will be getting in touch to arrange your appointments for parents evening. This will be your chance to talk about how your child has settled into the new year, the progress they are making and how you can help at home.

Parent/carer consultation are the week of October 14th.

If parent/carers are seperated and unable to sit together for the 10 minute appointment we will be happy to offer one face to face appointment and one brief telephone call. We suggest whichever parent has the face to face appointment this time then has the telephone call next time.

Sadly we cannot offer two appointments for all children with seperated parents as for many of our classes that might require the teacher to offer 50 appointments.

    Many thanks,

    Mrs Beard-Robbins

  • Harvest Festival Donations

    Wed 02 Oct 2024

Our Harvest Festival is on Monday 7th October and as in previous years we are collecting food for the local food banks. If you could spare any tin food, rice, pasta, long-life milk etc. we would be very grateful. Just send what you can in with your child or drop any items in to reception where they will be gratefully received.

    Many thanks

    Miss Hackling

  • Flu Vaccinations Consent if Missed Visit

    Mon 30 Sep 2024

    Dear Parent/guardian,

Thank you to those who submitted a consent form for your child to receive their Flu nasal vaccination in school. The uptake in your school this year is 50% to date, therefore will leave a large number of children unprotected against flu. If you HAVE NOT completed a consent form, it is not too late for your child to have this vaccine.

Please follow the link to complete a consent from and for further information:
