  • Miss Lloyd's Class Closing Tuesday 1st February

    Mon 31 Jan 2022

    Evening all,

Please can Miss Lloyd’s class check their messages from me.
Sadly this class is closed for the rest of the week.

Things are tricky in school, we currently have 6 staff with Covid and there are very few supply staff.

We are all working hard to keep classes open. I’m thankful to all my staff for being flexible and moving classes to help out as much as possible. Mr Lewis and Miss Clark’s class will remain open tomorrow with a supply teacher.

    Kindest regards,

    Mrs Robbins

  • Message From Mrs Robbins

    Tue 18 Jan 2022

    Morning all,

We have had a real rise in cases over the last few days.

I met with Heads in our nearby schools yesterday afternoon and this seems to be the case in our local schools too ie Abercan, Pantside.

I will continue to message you all when necessary and also the office staff are working hard to answer any questions you may have, as are all staff on dojo.

Thankfully, to date, none of our cases have been serious and I’m grateful for that. The majority of children just have a few minor symptoms.

It’s a huge thank you from me for your ongoing support, those who reply so quickly and kindly to messages and mostly for the understanding that we are absolutely doing the best we can in these continued tricky times.

    Many thanks,

    Mrs Robbins

  • Update on PDG Access Grant

    Fri 14 Jan 2022

    Good Afternoon,

We’ve received an email from the authority to say that the applications for the PDG Access Grant have been flooding in.

There seems to be some confusion with the year groups on the application forms.

No applications can be made for September 2022 until July 2022. The applications for the additional year groups 2,4 and 6 are for pupils that are currently in years 2, 4 and 6 now.

So, if you are making an application for your child that is currently in Year 3 now, you put Year 3 on application not Year 4 for next September.

As I said before, please feel free to contact me if anyone is struggling with their application.

    Have a lovely weekend.

    Mrs Reardon

  • Update on Class 8, Mr Regulski

    Fri 14 Jan 2022

    UPDATE FROM MRS ROBBINS

    Good morning all,

Thank you so much for all of your support over these last few difficult days. It’s been wonderful to see children engaging with online learning and accessing support for blended learning. Fortunately though Mrs Robbins has been successful in securing a supply teacher for the start of next week, and therefore on Monday and Tuesday, class 8 will be reopen for face to face teaching and learning. We are hopeful that by Wednesday, teaching and support staff will be able to return also, but will of course keep you updated on this.

The classroom has undergone a thorough deep clean and is ready to host class 8 on Monday morning at the usual time.

Please could you ensure that your child has a negative lateral flow before returning on Monday and be mindful and vigilant in looking out for symptoms of Covid 19 in your child.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the office or private message Mr Regulski.

  • PDG Access Grant (Uniform Grant)

    Thu 13 Jan 2022

    Good Afternoon,

RE: PDG ACCESS GRANT (Uniform Grant)

Welsh government have informed us that they are extending the grant for additional year groups this year, namely Years 2,4 and 6, at a rate of £125 per learner.

This is in recognition of the extreme pressures facing many families, and the subsequent rise in eligibility of Free School Meals.

The grant is now available to all school years from RECEPTION TO YEAR 11 pupils, who, as explained, are currently in receipt of Free School Meals.

All applications can be made via an - online form on the Caerphilly Borough website.

I have attached photos to guide you to the correct area on the councils website.

If you have any queries, please feel free to contact me.

    Many Thanks,

    Mrs Reardon
