  • PTA Crazy Hair / Hat Day

    Thu 28 Sep 2023

    Morning all,

Don’t forget tomorrow (Friday) is a non uniform day with crazy hair/hats/head gear with a donation of £1 to PTA.

The money raised by PTA is currently being used to subsidise all trips and experiences due to the increased costs of buses etc.

We are all really looking forward to tomorrow but please remember any changes made to hair colour must be easily washed out ready for Monday in line with our uniform policy.

I’ve heard lots of other lovely ideas like silly hats, wigs, headbands, crazy gel styles, messy ponytails if you needed some ideas.

    Many thanks,

    Mrs Robbins

  • Harvest Festival Reminder

    Mon 25 Sep 2023

    Morning all,

Just as a reminder from the newsletter, that a week today we will be having our harvest festival for the pupils. We will be collecting this week for the local food banks and so any donations of tins, dried food, cereal, long life milk would be brilliant.

Your child can bring it into school all this week ready for next Monday. They can give it to their teacher.

    Many thanks,

    Mrs Robbins

  • School Governor Vacancy

    Wed 20 Sep 2023

    Morning all,

Following on from the AGM of our Governing Body last night we have two vacancies on our Governing Body for parents/carers. This is due to terms of office ( 4 years) coming to an end.

The Governing Body works with the Headteacher to set the strategic direction of the school, monitors the school’s performance, makes decisions collectively and provides support and challenge for senior leaders.

The role of the school governor is demanding but very rewarding and a good way to give back to your local community.

All new governors will be required to undertake training and commit to attend meetings, committees and school events.

You need to be able to respect confidentiality, work as part of a team, have a willingness to improve children’s education and a firm understanding that you are not there to represent parents, but as a member of the Governing Body who is a parent.

If you are interested you can collect a nomination form from the office.

Parents/carers who work in the school cannot be considered.

If there are more than two nominations an election will be held and all parent/carers will be given the opportunity to vote.

There will be at least one nomination from a current governor who serves as a community governor but wishes to move over to parent governor role. There are however two vacancies.

Nominations close on Friday 29th of September.

If you would like any more information, or have questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Kindest regards,

    Mrs Robbins

  • Flu Immunisation

    Tue 19 Sep 2023

    Dear Parent/Guardian,

The School Nursing Service will be visiting the school to offer pupils a nasal flu spray vaccine on Friday 13th October 2023.

The consent form can be completed here: https://forms.office.com/e/eyggpck0Kf

Please submit one form per child no later than 48 hours before the above date. Any consent forms submitted after this time may result in your child not receiving their vaccine on the day. Should you have any difficulties accessing the above link, please contact 01633 431685 for further support.

It’s very important to protect your child from flu to make sure they stay as healthy as possible, as flu is likely to circulate this winter. The best flu vaccine for most children is a nasal spray. This is the vaccine that will be given on the day. For information about flu vaccination please visit phw.nhs.wales/fluvaccine.
