  • Thank You

    Fri 28 Oct 2022

    Morning all,

It’s almost time for our half term break!

I wanted to thank all parents/carers for their ongoing support of our lovely school.

The stay and play and open classrooms were so well attended and the turnout this week for parent consultations has been excellent.

We have loved reading all the positive feedback on the questionnaires too.

A final reminder that today is the last day to pay for the pantomime ( in cash) and also the last day to apply for a secondary school place for your Y6 child.

Nursery applications for rising 3’s also need to be done today if you haven’t.

Have a wonderful half term and we look forward to seeing all the children back on Monday 7th November.

Perhaps remind them about staying safe at Halloween and Bonfire Night and the assembly we had from PC Morgan.

    Kindest regards,

    Mrs Robbins

  • Free School Meals over School Holidays

    Tue 25 Oct 2022

    Good afternoon all,

Please see the following message from the local authority for those parents/carers who were previously eligible for free school meals:

As you are no doubt aware due to the ongoing Cost of Living Crisis and the pressure this puts on low-income families during the school holidays, Welsh Government have decided to extend the holiday provision offer for those learners who receive free school meals up until the end of February half term 2023 (this will include school holidays in October, December 2022 and February 2023).

Caerphilly County Borough Council will no longer be delivering free school meals to pupils homes during school holidays.

A weekly payment of £19.50 per child (£3.90 per day) will be made to eligible parents / guardians.

The Council’s Catering Service are currently working in partnership with the Post Office to deliver this payment.

Parents will receive correspondence from the Post Office by Friday 4th November with further information about how to claim this payment.

  • October Newsletter

    Morning all,

Hopefully you all received your October newsletter yesterday with the dates for next term.

A digital copy can be found under Newsletters on the website

    Mrs Robbins

  • Parent Consultations in Junior Hall and No After School Clubs This Week

    Mon 24 Oct 2022

    Good morning,

All parental consultations this week will take place in the junior hall at the far end of the school. Please can you ensure you arrive at the arranged times and please let the class teacher know if you are unable to make the meeting.

Please be aware that there will be no extra curricular clubs running this week due to parental consultations.

    Thank you in advance

  • Final Week of Term and Parent Consultations

    Mon 24 Oct 2022

    Morning all,

As we start our final week of the half term I would like to remind you that this week all teachers are holding their parent consultations.

I know the staff are looking forward to meeting with you, letting you know how your child has settled into their new class, about the progress they have made and the next steps in their learning.

Please can I gently remind you that each appointment is 10 minutes. If you feel you have more questions, or for example more issues to discuss please make another appointment at a future date.

There are around 28 children in most classes now, so for example, if each appointment ran just 2 minutes over, that’s almost an extra hour.

A member of the Senior Leadership Team will also be available on each evening should you wish to make a further appointment.

We look forward to seeing you all.

    Kindest regards,

    Mrs Robbins

  • Staying Safe for Halloween and Bonfire

    Fri 21 Oct 2022

We have had a special visitor for our assembly today. PC Morgan came in to talk to us about the importance of staying safe for Halloween and bonfire night.

Let’s have fun but be safe πŸŽƒ πŸŽ†

  • Closing Date for Secondary School Applications

    Thu 20 Oct 2022

    Good afternoon all,

    Y6 PARENTS/CARERS

The deadline for secondary school applications is also Friday October 28th. Have you done your application on line?

Last year we did have parents who missed the deadline and didn’t get a place in their chosen school.

    Kindest regards,

    Mrs Robbins
