Morning all,
Staffing and Covid
It is becoming increasingly difficult to source any cover staff and supply teachers due to the high number of staff absence with Covid across South East Wales.
Please be aware that if the staffing and COVID situation gets worse across Wales further restrictions may be introduced by the Welsh Government and if we cannot get staff, we may be in a position whereby some classes may close and need to temporarily move to online learning for a short time.
This is a very last resort and I will do everything I possibly can to avoid this but it may come to the point where all options have been exhausted and there is no other choice.
We are just about managing today with 5 staff out and no cover available at all. We are stretched to the maximum.
I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure we keep all classes open but as parents/guardians it may be worth having a backup plan for childcare should your child’s class need to close for a couple of days at short notice.
Many thanks all,
Mrs Robbins
Good afternoon.
Over the next couple of weeks, all staff and children will be learning about Autism through age appropriate resources.
There are lots of resources and information on the AutismWales.org website should you wish to take a look.
Many thanks.
Morning all,
We’ve got a number of tables going spare that would be fab in children’s bedrooms for homework, reading, colouring.
If you would like one please ring the office. We suggest a donation of £3- 5. This money will then go towards our school rewards.
Many thanks,
Mrs Robbins
Miss Clark’s class, Mr Regulski, Miss Lloyd and Mrs Seamons
Morning all,
Unfortunately I have just been notified overnight of a positive case of coronavirus in each of the 4 classes above.
Please keep your children home if they are unwell. If your child develops any symptoms please take them for a PCR as soon as possible.
Please remember the guidance is now isolation whilst you await results and also isolation for the rest of the household if there is a positive case in your family until you have a negative result.
Thank you,
Mrs Robbins
Morning all,
Just a final reminder that it’s PTA film night tonight until 5pm for all children in reception and above.
Children need to have returned their consent form if they’d like to stay.
Don’t forget for juniors you can bring extra money to buy snacks and sweets.
A plea from me - there’s lots of my staff and myself giving up our time tonight to run this alongside PTA as we were very short of volunteers, so please can you all be sure to be on time picking your children up at 5pm so we are all able to get home to our families too.
We are looking forward to enjoying these films and some treats together.
Many thanks,
Mrs Robbins
Yesterday everyone took home a blank snoopy! This is a school competition to design their very own Snoopy and help raise lots of money for Dogs Trust.
You must use colouring pens or pencils to create your masterpiece. Please do not use any other materials.
You must create an original design. Please do not draw any characters that already exist, for example Marvel or Disney characters.
The winning entry will have their design painted onto our huge Snoopy and we will be able to follow the dogs trail to find them somewhere in Caerphilly!
After a while, our Snoopy will return to us and take pride of place at Cwmcarn Primary.
We’re all very excited to receive your designs! Please ensure you return your finished design by December 10th.
Keep an eye on Dojo and our school Twitter page to keep up to date!
Miss Lloyd’s Class
Morning all,
Unfortunately I have been notified of another positive case in Miss Lloyd’s class. Thankfully on this occasion the pupil is well.
However, please continue to be extra careful and book a PCR test if your child develops any symptoms.
Thank you,
Mrs Robbins
Did you know from March 2022 any kind of physical punishment to children will be illegal, including smacking?
For the attention of Miss Lloyd’s Class
One of the pupils who was in school on Monday has tested positive for Coronavirus.
Please be extra vigilant. As you know, the rules have now changed so you must keep your child at home if they become unwell and they cannot return to school unless they have had a negative PCR.
Please take care all,
Mrs Robbins
Important message from our PTA:
Hi all,
As promised we are hoping to have a film night for the children on Wednesday 10th November. In order to run the event we need 8 volunteers.
Thank you to those who have come forward already to help but we still need more help please. If you are able to help between 3-5pm please could you contact the school or PTA either via Facebook or via email - cwmcarnprimarypta@gmail.com.
If you can help please let us know by the end of the day so we know the event can go ahead. We need at least 5 more volunteers to be able to run the film night.
Thank you in advance!
