  • Nasal Flu Vaccine at School on Wednesday 18th September

    Fri 06 Sep 2024

    Dear Parent/Guardian,

The school nursing service will visit the school to offer pupils a nasal flu spray vaccine on 18/09/2024
The NHS recommends that your child has a flu vaccination every year.

It’s very important to protect your child from flu to make sure they stay as healthy as possible. The best flu vaccine for most children is a nasal spray. This is the vaccine that will be given on the day.

The online consent form and additional information can be found here: https://linktr.ee/schoolfluab

To help make sure the vaccine is suitable for your child, and they don’t miss out, please take time to read the information and follow the link to complete the electronic consent form as soon as possible, before the planned vaccination date, no later than 48 hours before the above date. Any consent forms submitted after this time may result in your child not receiving their vaccine on the day.
Should you have any difficulties accessing the above link, please contact 01633 431685 for further support.

  • WOW - Walk To School Challenge

    Wed 04 Sep 2024

    Dear parent/carer,
Living Streets’ WOW – the walk to school challenge is back to help encourage as many children as possible to experience the benefits of walking to school. We are one of 170 schools taking part across Wales with thanks to funding from Welsh Government.
As you know, WOW is a pupil-led initiative where children self-report how they get to school every day. If they travel actively (walk/wheel, cycle, scoot or Park and Stride) at least once a week for a month, they get rewarded with a badge. It's that easy!

What are the benefits of walking to school? Children feel happier and healthier, arriving at school refreshed, and ready to learn. Walking also helps to reduce congestion and pollution at the school gates.

What if we can’t walk to school?
If driving, ‘Park and Stride’ to help your child earn their WOW badges. Park at least ten minutes away from the school and walk the remaining journey (the map shows our school’s active travel zone, please park outside of the zone).
If using public transport, hop off at least ten minutes away and walk the rest (recorded as ‘other’ on the WOW Travel Tracker).
Where walking to school isn’t an option, we work with schools to establish a bespoke approach to WOW that works best for their pupils’ needs. If you have any questions on the adaptability of WOW or have suggestions of how we can improve, please email walktoschool@livingstreets.org.uk

    The WOW badges
There are 11 new WOW badges to be earned, one for every month of the school year. This year’s WOW badge theme is Walk with Imagination, with a selection of badges ranging from a Bird's Eye View to Road Surfing up for grabs.
If you have any questions about the programme, or to find more information and useful videos, visit: livingstreets.org.uk/wowlaunch
Let’s swap those school runs for school walks.

    Data provided by Travel Time

Calling all parents, carers, grandparents and family members! As part of WOW, we would love to give you the opportunity to have your say about the walking environment around our school. Living Streets can help you join with others to improve the streets around school, making them safer for everyone. To find out more, get in contact with Aisha Hannibal (Aisha.hannibal@livingstreets.org.uk).

    Annwyl riant/gofalwr,
Mae prosiect Living Streets, WOW – Yr Her Cerdded i'r Ysgol, yn ôl i annog cymaint o blant â phosibl i brofi manteision cerdded i'r ysgol. Rydym yn un o 170 o ysgolion sy'n cymryd rhan ledled Cymru gyda diolch i gyllid gan Llywodraeth Cymru.
Fel y gwyddoch, mae WOW yn fenter dan arweiniad disgyblion lle mae plant yn hunan-adrodd sut maen nhw'n cyrraedd yr ysgol bob dydd. Os ydynt yn teithio'n llesol (cerdded/olwynio, beicio, sgwtera neu Parcio a Cherdded) o leiaf unwaith yr wythnos am fis, maent yn cael eu gwobrwyo â bathodyn!

Beth yw manteision cerdded i'r ysgol? Mae plant yn teimlo'n hapusach ac yn iachach, yn cyrraedd yr ysgol wedi ei hadnewyddu ac yn barod i ddysgu. Mae cerdded hefyd yn helpu i leihau tagfeydd a llygredd wrth gatiau'r ysgol

Beth os na allwn cerdded i'r ysgol?
Os ydych chi'n gyrru, fedrwch Parcio a Cherdded i helpu'ch plentyn i ennill bathodynnau WOW. Parciwch o leiaf ddeng munud i ffwrdd o'r ysgol a cherddwch y daith sy'n weddill (mae'r map yn dangos parth teithio llesol ein hysgol, parciwch tu allan i'r parth os gwelwch yn dda).
Os ydych chi'n defnyddio trafnidiaeth cyhoeddus, dewch oddi wrtho o leiaf ddeng munud i ffwrdd a cherddwch y daith sy’n weddill (i’w gofnodi fel 'arall' ar Traciwr Teithio WOW).
Lle nad yw cerdded i'r ysgol yn opsiwn, rydym yn gweithio gydag ysgolion i sefydlu ffordd o ddarparu WOW sy'n gweithio orau ar gyfer anghenion eu disgyblion. Os oes gennych unrhyw gwestiynau am allu WOW i addasu neu awgrymiadau ar sut y gallwn wella, e-bostiwch walktoschool@livingstreets.org.uk

    Bathodynnau WOW
Mae 11 bathodyn WOW newydd i'w ennill, un am bob mis o'r flwyddyn ysgol. Thema bathodynnau WOW eleni yw Cerdded gyda Dychymyg, gyda detholiad o fathodynnau yn amrywio o Olwg Llygad Aderyn i Syrffio Ffordd i’w ennill.
Os oes gennych unrhyw gwestiynau am y rhaglen, neu i ddod o hyd i fwy o wybodaeth a fideos defnyddiol, ymwelwch a: livingstreets.org.uk/wowlaunch

Gadewch i ni gyfnewid teithiau car am deithiau cerdded i’r ysgol.

Data a ddarparwyd yn ôl Travel Time

Yn galw ar bob rhiant, gofalwr, neiniau a theidiau ac aelodau o'r teulu! Fel rhan o WOW, byddem wrth ein bodd yn rhoi cyfle i chi ddweud eich barn am yr amgylchedd cerdded o amgylch ein hysgol. Gall Living Streets eich helpu i ymuno ag eraill i wella'r strydoedd o amgylch yr ysgol, gan eu gwneud yn fwy diogel i bawb.
