We need to inform you that an alleged incident took place, involving one of our pupils yesterday (Dec 15th). This alleged incident took place after school hours and not on the school site, but in the locality. Police are currently investigating the matter. Please rest assured that your children are safe whilst in school.
Please be extra vigilant and careful at this time, ensuing that your children are safe. It is not sensible to allow your children to be out after dark without supervision.
We would like all parents and guardians to enjoy our Christmas Concerts. It can be very difficult for children to be heard performing if there are babies crying or small children being noisy.
If at all possible, please try to arrange childcare for your younger children when you come to the concert.
If you have no options for childcare we will allow babies and small children into the 10am performances but not at 3pm.
We would ask that if your child starts to cry or become noisy that you take them out of the hall as soon as possible.
Many thanks for your co-operation with this matter.
On Wednesday November 25th we had to take the decision to close the school early, at 1.15pm. We noticed that we had no water. This meant we were unable to use the toilets and also caused us some difficulties with other hygiene issues.
We contacted Welsh Water who told us,
" A burst water main has affected drinking water supplies to customers in Abercarn, Crosskeys, Ynysddu and surrounding areas. We are currently carrying out emergency repair work and anticipate that water supplies should begin returning to normal by later this evening."
We therefore updated the school website and sent out text messages to parents. We also contacted some parents by phone. We would like to thank you all very much for co-operating with us and collecting your children early.
We are assured by Welsh Water that the problem will be resolved by tomorrow. We will update this website via the home page should there be any further disruption.
Many thanks to all of you who are labelling your children's clothes. We really appreciate it.
Can you all please check that all uniform and coats are clearly labelled with your child's name? We have lots of black bags in school of lost property with no names at all.
Our Nursery children are visiting Caerphilly Mountain Ranch this week as part of their new topic 'Why do leaves go crispy?.
Check out the Nursery class page as Miss Lindsey has been busy adding photographs of the trip!
