Afternoon all,
Following on from the problems we’ve had this week in Y3/4 with use of mobiles and tablets one of our parents has recommended an app they use which really helps.

Hopefully some of you will find it helpful.
Many thanks,
Mrs Robbins
Morning,
For the attention of Y4 parents :
I’m sure you’ll appreciate it’s not really my job to solve the weekend’s problems 😊
There’s not enough hours in my day as it is - however it’s hard sometimes when weekend problems get brought into school and disrupt learning.
Can I please remind you that what’s app has a minimum age of 16.
Children in Y4 who do have their own mobiles need to be carefully monitored and only age appropriate apps used.
It might be worth having a little look at your child’s phone to check they are using them in an age appropriate way and that they are not becoming involved or drawn into online bullying or unpleasant messages.
Thank you for your support with this.
Many thanks,
Mrs Robbins
Morning all,
I hope you had a lovely weekend. There’s lots going on today!
Johnathan’s Jungle Roadshow is in school all day for our littler ones and Class 5 and 5a and also all the children who learn an instrument are going to a concert in Cardiff.
How exciting!
Next week the older children will be having their trips to Sophia Gardens.
Thank you,
Mrs Robbins
Prynhawn dda,
Governors have now completed their ‘Annual
Report to Parents’ for the school year 2022-2023. If you would like a paper copy you can ask for one at the office. We will be posting the report on our website.
Diolch,
Mrs Reardon, on behalf of the Chair of Governors (Mrs J McCabe)
A massive well done to the children who represented the school in the football tournament today. They played extremely well and did themselves and the school proud.
We even won a game by 4 goals to nil!
Da iawn all!
Morning all,
We are really looking forward to the week ahead as we prepare to celebrate St David’s Day on Friday.
On Friday them children can wear their own clothes, any colours from the Welsh flag, and sporting kit for teams or any club uniform as per the newsletter.
Thank you,
Mrs Robbins
Morning all,
Caerphilly catering have asked me to remind parents/carers that although we hold breakfast club at the school it is managed, funded and run by Caerphilly catering.
Of course, school staff work with Mrs Rees and her team and help out as much as we can when needed.
The gate for breakfast club is open by the catering team from 8.10-8.20. This was on a previous dojo post, a newsletter and shared with the children.
It is the parent/carers responsibility to ensure their child is handed over to the member of staff on the gate ( usually Mrs Rees).
If you arrive after 8.20 and the gate is closed the child is not then the responsibility of the breakfast club staff or the school.
We take responsibility for the rest of the children at 8.50 when staff go on duty on the yards.
If you have any questions regarding breakfast club please direct them to Caerphilly catering.
Huge thanks to all parents/carers of breakfast club as all I’ve heard lately is really positive comments about the children, their behaviour and manners.
Thank you!
Mrs Robbins
Good evening,
As a school we are always looking to celebrate and strengthen the things we do well, and reflect and improve our practice. As such, we always value the feeback of the children, the parents, the governors and our wider community to help us do so. With this in mind we are currently evaluating how we deal with mental health and wellbeing as a school.
We would really appreciate if parents could take a few minutes to click the link below and fill out the form to help us celebrate our successes and plan for the improvements of the future.
Thank you in advance

Good Afternoon,
Please see the attached flyer relating to netball and football tots’ sessions, available at Newbridge Leisure Centre.
Many thanks,
Mrs Reardon
Morning all,
Please can I remind you again about dropping children off for school, picking up and appropriate parking.
I was outside both yesterday morning and today and again witnessed parents just stop the car in the middle of the road and allow children to get out, or parking on double yellows or zig zag lines. It was really concerning.
I know it is a very difficult situation with our school being surrounded by busy streets but please can we all take care to drop off and park appropriately to keep our children safe.
Many thanks,
Mrs Robbins
