Mr Scourfield –Y4/5

Our topic this half term is called Alchemy Island. We were very lucky to start our topic with a visit from Alchemist Williams and we have already been investigating the different samples he brought with him from the magical Alchemy Island.

St David's Day Art and Design Competition.

Choose from one of the following:

(a) Make a Welsh lovespooon. You may decorate a wooden spoon using your choice of materials.

(b) Design an alternative Six Nations trophy. Choose your own materials and decide whether you will create a 2D or 3D trophy.

Please return all artwork to school by Monday 29th February, ensuring you have labelled it with your name, class and house team.

Blwyddyn Newydd Dda!      Happy New Year!

This term our topic is all about Ancient Egypt and we are visiting The Egypt Centre in Swansea University this week; Year 4 will be going on 12th January, Year 5 will be going on 13th January. Please come back to this page to see the fun we had and the amazing activities we worked on together!

We have already created maps of Egypt and identified its significant features, researched interesting aspects of the Ancient Egyptian timeline and sketched items found in Tutankhamun’s tomb.

In addition to our trip this week, we will be spending this term researching the different Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt, investigating and reporting on the findings inside Tutankhamun’s tomb, making Egyptian bread and creating our own Death Masks!

I will be updating this page with photos and examples of the fabulous work from Class 8 soon!

Welcome to Class 8!

Our topic for this half term is "Frozen Kingdom."

We will be braving the elements to investigate our Planet’s coldest lands.

This week we have been researching the Arctic and Antarctic and have been working hard to understand compass points, coordinates and grid references to provide us with the skills we’ll need to explore the Polar Regions in more detail this term.

In the run up to Christmas we will be researching climate, temperature, habitats and eco systems of both the Arctic and Antarctic and will be updating this page with photos of our adventures.

Wrap up well and join us on our expedition!
